More free stuff!

Tree Planting
Yes, not just free buses, but lots of other good free stuff too.

I’ve been playing with DropBox, which is a really useful and well-implemented tool for synchronising files across computers and sharing them with others.

Photoshop.com’s mobile app for iPhone/iPod Touch finally became available in the UK iTunes App Store – I’m sure there are other apps for doing quick photo edits, but this is the only one I’ve seen and it seems good.  I hadn’t even realised that Photoshop.com existed either, so I’ve been playing with that too.

And then there’s the best of all…free trees!  We’re getting involved with the BBC’s Tree o’Clock record-breaking tree planting attempt on December 5th.  The Great Western Community Forest are planting a load of trees on some land between Swindon and Wroughton, but you can plant your own individual tree as part of the effort too, and they’re giving them away!

On Having the Touch

A while back I mentioned that I’d sort-of won myself an Apple iPod Touch by winning a management-speak competition.

These things are reviewed to death these days so, though this would probably be called a review, it’s more just my thoughts on the device.

Plain Posts

Yeah, I know it was quiet for a while, but I seem to be back.  For the time being at least.  I’ve updated some of the static pages and posted about some recent things, but there’s a backlog of thoughts to get down too.

I’m now equipped with an iPod Touch (which I will write more about soon!), and I have the WordPress app for that, which is great.  It means I can write short, simple posts very easily on the go, or without needing to fire up my laptop or desktop.

But it’s not good for rich text!

So, you may see some simple, plain-text postings in the future and they’re probably posted from my iPod.  I may get the chance to tidy some of them up, post-posting, if you see what I mean, but not always.

And remember, these are mostly badly-scrawled notes to self.  Things I want to record, reflect upon and look back on at a later date.  I’m flattered that others take an interest but my intention isn’t for this to be a popular, flashy, all-singing, all-dancing blog – please bear that in mind as you read.

Pods and Parcels

Going…going…

So my unwanted prize has hit its reserve price on eBay, and I’ve been debating what to with the cash.

My immediate thoughts were to either buy the thing that I would rather have had as a prize in a draw, or to give the cash away.

I shall still give some of the cash away, that’s my way, but I’ve also decided that a treat is in order.
